BOWIE
A single portrait — or many. This piece grew out of an experiment in looser, more instinctive mark making: a desire to strip back the precision and let the hand lead. Rather than settling on one version, the portraits were allowed to accumulate — each pass at the same face catching something slightly different.
Bowie felt like the ideal subject. A face that spent a lifetime in transformation, that was never quite the same twice.
